The ITU World Triathlon Series features world-class events all around the globe in which elite triathletes compete annually to become the ITU World Champion. Each year, the Series finishes with a Grand Final as the most important race of the season and as the event where World Championship titles for Elite, U23, Juniors, Paratriathletes and Age Groupers are awarded.

In 2014, Edmonton will once again serve as host for the TransCanada Corp. World Triathlon Grand Final. The Grand Final will be the penultimate triathlon competition around the world. The event will bring together athletes of all abilities, from rising phenoms to established veterans, Olympic medallists to weekend warriors.

Edmonton has hosted the world before in 2001 and is ready to host again. Several thousand international visitors are expected to descend upon the event, consisting of over 4,000 athletes and 2,000+ support teams, officials, family and friends.

Edmonton will also host the annual ITU Congress with delegates from more than 130 countries planned for September 1, 2014.
